Education

Vision:

San Bruno Mountain is a portal into the natural world where people of all ages can gain an appreciation and understanding of nature by using the mountain as an outdoor classroom.

Program:

The Education program encourages outdoor exploration while providing the necessary information to instill love, appreciation and understanding of the ecology and history of San Bruno Mountain.  Through partnerships with local schools, community involvement and the efforts of our Advocacy and Stewardship programs, the program seeks to make all encounters with the mountain into learning experiences.

Three programs form the core of our educational efforts: a School Program, a Community Education Program, and a Hiking Program.

Special Projects:

We sometimes have the opportunity, with the help of generous grants, to fund Special Projects in collaboration with area schools.
